Impact of Agriculture
Education in Bundelkhand was in a mess until the interventions of SSA. The major reasons behind this was lack of participation of children and their parents in education. Now with the efforts of SSA, educational scenario has started looking up following increase in participation of children in the activities of the schools.
Natural calamities particularly affect the poor populace of poor countries. Half of the terrain in Bundelkhand being inclined, about 60 percent of rain water drains away rapidly. Indiscriminate deforestation in the area has affected the underground water table also. The legal aspects of rights and price of water should be determined in to effectively implement water policy 2001.
Awareness is being created among the people about new cropping methods and seed treatment. The programme covers 1,942 farmers in 49 villages (of which 23 fall in Madhya Pradesh) in five districts of Bundelkhand in rainfed areas. This has improved food security of the participating farmers.
