Chitrakoot

Chitrakoot district was carved off from the parent Banda district on May 6, 1997. The newly created district was originally named as Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Nagar, but the name was changed to Chitrakoot on September 4, 1998.

Located between latitude 24 deg 48 min to 25 deg 12 min north and longitude 80 deg 58 min to 81 deg 34 min east, Chitrakoot district has an area of 3,453 sq km. The district has two tehsils (sub-districts) and five development blocks.

SSA works in Mau, Ranipur, Pahari and Ramnagar development block of Chitrakoot district.
